This is a fun, graffiti-inspired piece of pop art, painted by Amen.
Each piece is hand-painted using high-pigment, artist’s quality spray paint on archival oil sketch art paper. There are several variants of this painting, all created from a drawing based on an old comic frame in the style made iconic by Roy Lichtenstein.
Unlike Roy, who painstakingly erased the hand-painted elements in his work, these are fast, fun and obviously handmade. With freehand spray painting, the human element remains, including unique patterns of paint speckling and occasionally cracking where different colours crossover and reveal themselves.
